CARRENO RECITAL.
The plan of reserved seats for the Carreno recital, on the 7th instant, will be opened to-morrow, and in view of the celebrated pianist's immense success elsewhere, there is likely to be a brisk demand for seats. Besides being a remarkably forceful and dazzling player in bravura music Carreno is a great Beethoven exponent, and also excels in the poetic and romantic sphere. Madame Carreno is said to be a great student., of Chopin, and expresses in an eminent degree the characteristics with which the master was deeply imbued. She realizes to the utmost extent the poetic fervour which so many exponents of the Polish composer lack. In the more dramatic compositions, also inquiring much gracefulness of expression, she is said to be equally artistically successful.
