OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly matches of the Opaki Quoits Club were played on Saturday. The ladies played for Mrs McLeod's trophy, which was won by Mrs Nicholson, Miss M. Campbell being second. Seventeen"competitors took part in this competition. The men's monthly match was won by Mr H. Hunt, with Mr Daken second, and Mr S. Blewett third. Atjjjthe afternoon tea adjournment, Mr Nicholson presented the trophies previously won. To Miss VVyeth he presented Mr Searle's trophy, and to Mr Searle Dr. Tat ten's gold medal and also Messrs Walsh and Co.'s gold medal tor the winner of the Opaki championship for 1907. Mr Nicholson stated that the Misses Campbell had donated a trophy for competition among the ladies. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the donors, and the usual vote of thanks to the ladies who-served afternoon tea.
