HOCKEY.
All matches which were to have been played next Thursday have been postponed, owing to the death of Mrs A. T. Thompson. The Rev. A. T. Thompson is captain of the Knox Team, and was, until recently, a member of the Wairarapa Hockey Association. It is provable that the representative match bet>vi?en Wellington and Wairarapa will Lie played in Masterton on August 22nd. MANAWATU TOURING TEAM. By Telegraph—Special to Age. PALMERSTON N., July 29. The Manawatu hockey representative team will leave Palmerston North on tour on Wednesday. The following players will go with the team: —F. Tucker, J. Walkley, A. Tew, A. Kerslake, D. Simmonas, H. Sorenson, R. McMurray, B. Webb, F. Bell, W. Crump, H. Collinson, and K. Tait. The Association has appointed Mr B. Kerslake manager of the team which will be accompanied by Mr E. Wood-Dawick, one of the Vice-Presidents of the Manawatu Association. The programme of matches is *as follows:—Taranaki, August Ist; Auckland, August 3rd; Thames, August 6th; Goldfields, at Waihi, August 7th; Hawke's Bay, August 14th.
