A guessing competition was conducted during the show. The competition was to guess the collective live weight of four birds, viz., a rooster, goose, bantam and pigeon. The birds were weighed on Saturday evening, the weights being as follow: — Goose, 101b 12oz; rooster, 81b; bantam, lib 4oz; pigeon, 12oz; total, 201b 12oz. The winner was Mr. J. j McDonald, of Lincoln Road, Masterton, who guessed the exact collective weight of the birds. The whole arrangements for the show were well carried out by the secretary, Mr J.
