RICKARDS' VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.

The first performance of Harry : Rickards' Vaudeville Company will be given at the Masfcerton Town Hall on i Monday evening. It is seldom that j Mr Rickards has found himself able ] to include so many European "stars" j in a travelling combination, and lovers of a light, bright, vaudeville entertainment will have an opportunity of witnessing a programme contributed by several of the best known preformers of the London vaudeville stage, viz., Fred. Rus- ! sell, Charlene and Charlene, King , and Benson, and Miss Gissie Wal- ! mer. Of Fred Russell, a Welling- j ton contemporary said: —"Mr Fred . Russell, a humorous ventriloquist, i introduces the funniest of dolls in 'Coster Joe.' For many minutes this impudent young rascal keeps those in front in paroxysms of laugh- ; ter. We doubt if a more genuinely clever ventriloqual artist has hitherto visited us." The costumes worn by Madame Charlene are described by the Sydney Morning Herald as "entitled to rank among the most beautiful creations ever seen on the colonial stage." King and Benson will introduce solos, duets and dances, interspersed with patter which the Sydney Daily Telegraph describes as "quite original and free from any trace of vulgarity." The plan of reserved seats is now open at Miss Rive's. j
