At a meeting of the Management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union a letter was received from the Hawke's Bay Union asking the Auckland Union to use its influence with the New Zealand Union to have the Hawke's Bay v. Auckland fixture declared a special challenge match. According to yesterday's Press wire message, the last match was played at Napier in 1903, whereas Hawke's Bay visited Auckland in 1905, and suffered defeat. Auckland has played three times in Napier, and Hawke's Bay men have played on three occasions in Auckland. The 1905 fixture was inadvertently omitted from the Auckland Union's Annual. Mr Langsford will point this out in a telegram to the New Zoalaß .'gby Union.
