MAJOR CUP.

UNITED v. KIA KAHA. The only match played at Lansdowne, yesterday, was that between the Kia Kaha and United teams. Both teams were fully represented, but the game, except for occasional flashes of brilliancy, was uninteresting. During the first spell, Uniieds were mostly defending. The Kia Kahas were frequently in the United's circle, but through bad shooting were only able to score two goals, these being scored by Rue and Williams. The Uniteds forced the ball into the blatfks' territory twice,, and from one of these invasions Isaacs hit a goal. The second spell was a repetition of the first. The Kia Kahas were in their opponents' circle almost continually, hut again; the hitting: at goal was erratic, and. only two goals were scored, these being hit by Rue and Nixon. In this spell Williams made a fine run. He passed nearly all the United team with the exception of the goalkeeper (Hatch), who, with a fine hit, relieved the situation when Williams was within two or three yards of the goal. The final whistle sounded leaving Kia Kaha victors by four goals to one. Mr W~ J. Vernon was referee. Greytown forfeited their match with the W.F.C.A. yesterday. HUGHES SHIELD. GARRY OWEN v. McKenzie carried the ball well' into the Garry Owen territory, where play remained for some time. Some fine work by Misses K. O'Leary, M. O'Toole and M. Stempa removed play to the centre. For some time play was up and down the field, and then the School, by a combined rash, attacked the Garry Owen goal, and eventually Miss E. Elliott scored a goal for the School. After the bullyoff, Misses A. Jackson, M. McKenzie, C. Elliott and E. Drgg by good play put Gariy Owen on the defensive, but Misses V. O'Connell, M. Collins and O'Toole relieved. Half-time sounded shortly after without any further score. The High School had the best of the second spell, and scored another goal—hit by Miss A. Jackson.
