ANOTHER UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT. Receive J July 24, 8.2 a.m. LONDON, July 23. Jabez Wolffe, after swimming and drifting twenty miles, failed to swim the Channel. Ke declares that he will not attempt the feat again. (Last year Woltfe, Horace Mew, T. Burgess, and Miss Annette Kellerman attempted to swim the Channel, but failed. Wolffe once got within about three and a half miles of the French coast. Captain Matthew Webb has succeeded in swimming from Dover to Calais, his time being 21 hours 45 minutes.)
