LITERARY AND MUSICAL COMPETITIONS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The pcheme outlined by "Another Citizen" for the proposed Literary and Musical Competitions is admirable. It takes into consideration the claims of societies that have a right to some recognition in these matters, societies that do not receive municipal aid or Trust Lands Trust grants, but exist solely by their intrinsic worth. The proposal for each institution to appoint one delegate to the committee is excellent in every way, and would remove the feeling that the promoters, in their anxiety to secure an influential citizens' committee, were endeavouring to make their institution and connections the centre of the Wairarapa musical world. If a committee were formed as suggested by "Another Citizen," their deliberations could only result in concord and harmony.-*-I am, etc., A MUSICIAN.
