RICKARDS' VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.
What is said to be the very strongest vaudeville company yet sent to New Zealand by Mr Harry Rickards will commence a short season at the Town Hall or the 29th instant. No fewer than iix of the artists bring with them European credentials. The Charlenes, King and Benson, Fred Russell and Miss Cassie Walmer are from the principal vaudeville theatres of London and Paris. Says a contemporary:— "The Charlenes are excellent musicians, and the ladies will be delighted at the dresses of Madame Charlene, which are said to be worthy to rank among the most beautiful yet seen on the colonial stage. King and Benson give solos, duets and dances, and Mr Fred Russell is one of the best ventriloquists yet seen on this side] of the world. Miss Cassie Walmer sings well, and her vocal sketches are spoken of very highly everywhere. The other members of the company are all clever artists," The plan of reserved seats will open, on Wednesday, at Miss Rive's.
