Received July 15, 9.52 a.m. BRISBANE, July 15. Reports by the Island steamer state that the Island of Malaita, one of the Solomon Group, is in a very unsettled state. Soma vessels engaged in distributing returned islanders from Queensland report that in one part of the island two returned "boys" were shot dead. In another part six were clubbed to death. THE ENMORE MURDER. Received July 1% P. 38 p.m. SYDNEY, July 15. The man Baxter has been committed for trial for the murder of Mrs MacNamara at Enmore. In hip confession Baxter states that he committed the crime in order to get money to go to New Zealand. He secured £2O. He did not intend to kill Mrs Macamara, but she would not keep quiet. SYDNEY CRICKET GROUND. Received July 16, 12.38 a.m. SYDNEY, July 15. The Cricket Association has accepted the terms for the use of the cricket ground, which are 18 per cent, of the gross takings in matches played against the English team. The Association has expressed the opinion that the charges are grossly excessive.
