FOOTBALL.
THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Received July 11, 30.34 p.m. SYDNEY, July 11. The steamer Warrimoo, which has arrived here with the New Zealand footballers on board, experienced stormy conditions during the first two days of her voyage, and throughout the trip had to battle against head winds. The team suffered considerably from sea-sickness, all but one keeping their berths on the first day. Only two had sufficiently recovered to get about on the second day, and some were about for the first time yesterday. One or two of the men are a bit weak from the effects of sickness, otherwise all landed in good condition. A match was played on the Masterton Showgrounds, yesterday, afternoon, between the Albion and Eketahuna juniors. The game was a very even one, and resulted in a win fcr the Albions by 3 points to nil. The try for the winners was scored by Brown. Mr W. Logan wa. referee. The following team will represent Carterton Juniors against Masterton Juniors, at Carterton, to-morrow: — Thomas, Merewood (2), Hodge, OffsosKi (2), Underhill, Desmond, Blake, Thomas, Ashton, Forman, Sexton, Gustofsen, Paaske. UNITED v. CARTERTON B. The United and Carterton B teams met at Carterton yesterday. The first spell was very evenly contested. Each team scored two goals. In the second half United livened up and notched seven goals, Carterton being unabfe to score. Baker scored six goals for United, and Hatch, Winter and Carley one each.
