Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having feeld a successful clearing sale at Springbank on account of the Trustees of the late D, MeMaster. The attendance of the public was very satisfactory and keen competition took place over most of the lines offered. The sheep and cattle came under the hammer in first-ciass order, spirited bidding was elicited, and following prices realised: —580 breeding ewes, 2 tooth to f.f.m., 23s 6d; 400 hoggets 15s 11a; Shorthorn hull, £l4 store cows, 435; milch cows £4 5s to £5 12s 6d; fat cows, £6 10s; year to 2 year steers £3 15s; calves, good sorts, 345; heifers, in calf, £2 3s to £4 2s 6d; buggy mare, £2O; double busgy, £25; and all sundries » at full values. We would remind .readers of the sale to be held on account of H. Welch's Trustees, at Opaki, on Friday, 19th instant. The gfeeep to be offered at the sale are exceptionally good, the breeding ewes in particular being one of the finest lines in the district. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale as follows:—We submitted an average yarding of sheep to a fair attendance of buyers. Bidding at auction was good, and we quitted the whole yarding with the exception of one email lot at full rates. Very few £ cattle were yarded, the bulk selling. He quote: —Sheep—Best fat ewes 18s 9d, fat ewes and wethers 17s 9d, fat wethers 19s 9d, best ewes in lamb 19s 3d, other backward sorts 10s to 15s, cull ewes 4s 3d to ss, Jboggets best shorn 13s lid, others 13s Bd, 13s 6d, 13s, 12s 7d, 12s, down to lis Sd. Cattle —Fat cows £3 18s 6d to £5 13s, springing cows £5 15s, 18-months steers, poor, 345, calves 16s.
