EGG-LAYING.
UTILITY CLUB'S COMPETITION. By Telegraph—P:ess Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. The seventh week's returns of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's third egg-laying competition at Lincoln College, show that the number of eggs laid during the week was 921, giving an average of 19.1 per pen. The leading pens for the week were the following:— Mr W. O. Sails' Silver Wyandottes, 30; P. H. Milliken's Black Orpingtons, 29; W. M. Sails' White Leghorns, 29. The following pens have the highest aggregates:—J. Jackman's Silver Wyandottes, 194; W. Forrest's Black Orpingtons, 184; H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes, 182.
