SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS.
Received July 9, 1.5 a;m. MELBOURNE. July 8. Dr. Springthorpe, one of the official visitors of the Metropolitan Lunatic Asylums, makes some serious allegations in regard to the overcrowding and want of proper care and treatment of patients. The Doctor states that he found, thirty poor, feeble patients at Yarra Bend .without a fire, although the temperature was down to 48 degrees,. because the fire places were not safe • to use.
