MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

WORKS COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Works Committee of the Masterton Borough Council was held, last evening, there being present—Crs Pauling (chairman), Pragnell, Haughey, Prentice, and Morris. Crs Pragnell, Haughey and Prentice were deputed to meet the Engineer on Saturday next, with reference to the drainage of storm water on South Road. It was decided that an amount fur five chains of concrete kerbed footpath in Archer Street be placed on this year's estimates, the oweers of properties to pay half the cost, and the work to be done as soon as the estimates are approved of; that the Engineer be instructed to repair a break in the sewer in Cole Street extension ; that a sum be placed on the estimates for gravelling Bannister Street; that Crs Haughey, Pauling, Morris and the Town Clerk be£instructed to enquire into the question of disposing of the gravel reserve in River Road and report to the committee; that the Council be recommended to accept the offer of Mr W. B. Chennells in connection with the widening of Albert Street, provided that Mr Chennells will remove his fence at his own cost; that the question of granting a private right-of-way to Mr T. Dixon, in Worksop Road, be referred to Crs Haughey, Pauling and Morris to report upon.
