LAND SALE AT MASTERTON.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. held a sale of land in the Foresters' Hall, at Masterton, on Saturday, when two properties were submitted to a large attendance of the public. The property situate at Gladstone, known as "Spring Bank," containing 700 acres, was first offered, on account of the trustees of McLachlan's Estate. and elicited keen competition. Bidding opened at £7, and quickly ran up to' £11, at which price it was knocked down to Mr D. Douglas, of Land's End, Gladstone. Mr Green's property, "Waterfalls," situated near Alfredton. comprising 2,315 acres, failed to reach the owner's reserve, but it is probable that it will change hands in the course of a few days.
