AN INTERESTING POINT.

By Telegraph—Press Association

WELLINGTON, June 26. *. An interesting point was decided ] by Mr Riddell, Magistrate, to-day, S3 to whether Syrian shopkeepers, who have cheap trinkets and ornaments for sale could be called jewellers, and so have to observe the same hours as jewellers. The Magistrate held, in the case in point, that a Syrian was not a jeweller, and was not affected by the Gazette notice re jewellers' hours. The case was dismissed.
