The millionaire residents are organising a private force of eightyfive members to guard their property. THE MISSING BALLOONISTS. Received June 25, 8.44 a.m. LONDON, June 24. The body of Lieut. Caulfield, one of the missing balloonists, has been recovered at sea off the coast of Dorsetshire.
GOLF.
Received June 25, 10.24 a.m. LONDON, June 24. Armand Massey won the golf championship, covering four rounds of eighteen holes each in 312 strokes. REMARKABLE WALKING FEAT. Received June 25, 9.4 a.m. N LONDON, June 24. T. E. Hammond walked from London to Brighton and back, a distance of 104 miles, in 18 hours 12 minutes 7 seconds, beating the previous record of 2 hours 18 minutes. (In 1903 H. W. Horton walked the distance in 20 hours 3 minutes 53 seconds —2 hours 19 minutes 46 seconds in excess of Hammond's time. Hammond's performance is exceptional on account of both 'speed and endurance, seeing that there are numerous hills on the Brighton Road.)
CYCLING. Received June 25, 9.4 a.m. NEW YORK, June 24. Olley cycled a thousand miles by road in 105 hours. 3 minutes, beating the record by 8 hours 57 minutes. BILLIARDS EXTRAORDINARY.
