THURSDAY SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. ROVER B v. ALDION. The Rover Band- Albion Senior teams met in the second round of the Wairarapa Thursday Championship, on the Masterton Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon. The ground was very heavy, and the game was a poor exhibition all round. For the first quarter-of an hour Albions held their own, but after that they fell to pieces, and five tries were scored against them, principally owing to the backs being continually out of their places. 1 In the first spell Simmonds, E. Fairbrother, Wadham and Phelps crossed the line for Rovers, one try being converted by F. Fairbrother. The second half was of a more even nature, three points being | scored by each team. McKenzie kicked a good goal from a penalty for Albions, and Hart scored an easy try for Rovers. The game thus ended in a win for Rovers by 17 points to 3. Mr A. Millar was referee. ROVER a. v. LIBERAL. The Rover A and Liberal teams played a drawn game (3 points each), at Carterton, yesterday afternoon. A try was scored for Rovers, and Liberals obtained a goal from a penalty. Mr E. McKenzie was referee. • The Albion Juniors played Kia Toa, at Eketahuna, yesterday, and were defeated by 35 points to nil. v
