CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In your issue of to-day it is advertised that a meeting of the Masterton and District Workers' Land Settlement League will be held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, to-morrow night, when the question of Workers' Homes will be.discuesed, together with other matters of interest. This is not a bad start, and should prove of considerable interest to a large section of the residents of Masterton. I understand, through a conversation I had to-day with the principal promoter of the League, that it is the intention of the League to advance, in every direction the interests of all classes by advocating local industries such as woollen: mills, freezing works, borough sale'yards. reduction in the price of coal, together with the cutting up of large estates. This, I must say, is a good programme to start with, and should prove of great advantage to both the workers and business men of Masterton. I think this League should get the general support of both the business men and the workers. —I am etc., TRADESMAN. Masterton, June 18th, 1907.
