SAN FRANCISCO SENSATION.
SCHMITZ CONVICTED. Received June 17, 8.33 a.m. NEW YORK, June 16. Schmitz, ex-Mayor of San Francisco, has been convicted of extorting money from restaurants. He is liable to a sentence of five years' imprisonment. Schmitz is at present detained in gaol, the judge, refusing bail. Proceedings in connection with an consume a year.
