The German-Australian steamerVarzin, loading for the Continent at Woolloomooloo Bay, is on fire. The fire is supposed to have originated in a quantity of copra shipped at Brisbane. Arnold, M.H.R. for Dunedin South, New Zealand, during his visit to Australia, investigated the working of the Wages Board in Victoria. He says that he believes that the introduction of a Wages Board in New Zealand will prove of valuable assistance in connection with the work of the Arbitration Court..
