STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale as follows:—We submitted a good yarding of sheep and a few cattle to a small attendance of the public. Buyers were, however, present, and prices for sheep showed an all round increase on those ruling at the last few sales. A large yarding of good hoggets met with keen competition, as did forward conditioned empty ewes. Ewes in lamb submitted were for the most part of inferior quality, and ) dragged somewhat at auction. A total clearance with the exception' 4 pf one small lot was made at the close of the day. We quote :-- Sheep: Fat ewes 16s 2d to 16s 7d,< forward conditioned empty ewes 13s lid to 15s 9cl, ewes in lamb (medium) 129 6d to 13s, cull ewes 6s 4d, 2-tooth wethers (good) 13s 4d, lambs 14s, 13s lOd, 13s lOd. 13s, 12s 6d, lis lid down to 10s. Cattle: A small entry made:—Heifers in calf £2 10s, store cows £2 10s, calves 9s to 15s. Pigs: VVeaners Bs.
