"THE MIDNIGHT WEDDING."

That popular actor, Mr Harcourt Beatty, will make his re-appearance in Masterton, this evening, at the Town Hall, for the first time since his return from his American tour with Miss Nellie Stewart. Supported by Messrs James Lindsay, Conway Wingfield, Miss May Congdon, and Messrs Meynell and Gunn's famous "Fatal Wedding" Company, Mr Beatty will appear in his original role of Paul Valmar in the new romantic military drama, "The Midnight Wedding." Mr Beatty has a part which is said to suit him admirably. "He has the power," says a critic, "of embodying romance, of suggesting tenderne&s, strength and good comradeship, and as Paul Valmar he has every opportunity to use his varied gifts. Those theatregoers who witnessed his splendid performance with Miss Nellie Stewart in such plays as 'Sweet Nell of Old Drury,' 'Mice and Men,' 'Old Heidelberg' 'Pretty Peggy,' 'Camille,' 'A Country Mouse,' and 'A Royal Rival,' have fully realized his sterling dualities as an actor. Mr Beatty has had a long experience in romantic drama, and has appeared in England in the leading parts in 'The Prisoner of Zenda' and 'Rupert of Hentzau.' " The season is limited to three nights, and "The Midnight Wedding" will be presented for two of these. The box plan is open at Miss Rive's.
