TANNER'S "ARK" MISSING.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 12. Tanner's "Ark" left Sumner, on Tuesday last, for Timaru, and since then no word has been received as to the whereabouts of the party on board, which included Tanner himself, two Christchurch young men, named S. Hudson and C. Davis, two from Wellington, named J. Dean and W. Wilson, and a new arrival from the Home Country, named Albert Edwards, who went as cook. It is understood that provisions for only three days were taken, and as thewessel has apparently now been out for eight days, much anxiety is felt for the safety of the voyagers. When the "Ark" left Sumner a fair wind was prevailing, which should have carried her down to Timaru well within twenty-four hours.
