HOCKEY.

A scratch game was played between the Carterton High School Girls and Paka Koura (Featherstnn), at Carterton, on Saturday last. The former team won by two goals to nil. Misses Pearl Ashton and Doris Armstrong secured the goals for the winners. The Featherston team did not play as well as they have done in previous matches, the fault chiefly being through not having enough practice, and lack of combination. The game was very fast and exciting, the Carterton forwards proving rather too strong for the visitors. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea in the school by the home team. The Clareville School Girls defeated a junior team from the Carterton School by four goals to nil, at Clareville, on Saturday. .. wl _ ~..,. _
