MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY MEETING. \ The monthly meeting of the GeneralCommiittee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs R. Gray (chairman), J. McGregor, R. J. Dagg, T. P. Lett, F. C. Lewis, W. Perry, R. Johnstone, W. D. Watson, J. Morris, G. C. Summerell, J. P. Perry, J. Strang, W. Cooper, J. Macrae, D. Caselberg, B. Rayner, D. McGregor, junr., 0. C. Cooper, J. D. Cruickshank and J. C. McKillop. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. McKenzie. The Woodville District Jockey Club notified that the dates fixed for their next meetings were December 4th and sth, 1907, and February 19th and 20th, 1908. It was decided to inform the club that the Association had definitely fixed the , dates for the Masterton Show for the ' third week in February, and could not alter them. » The Finance Committee submitted the following financial statement:—- ( Dr. balance at last meeting, £732 15s 7d; expenditure for the month, i £lO3 lis lid; receipts for the month, I £lll 18s; cheques outstanding, £SB 18s 9d; dr. balance at date, £665 10s 9d. Accounts amounting to £l4 12s 6d were recommended for payment. The committee decided to hold a special meeting on June 27th, to revise the defaulters' list. The Ground Committee recommended that the Secretary be instructed to obtain particulars of the cost of an architect's report on the question of altering the new grandstand. The report was adopted. Messrs Gray, Cruickshank, Perry, Morris, and D. McGregor, junr., were appointed a committee to meet a committee from the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society to discuss the proposed farm competitions to be held by a Wellington newspaper company. Mr J. L. Hughes was elected a ' membar of the Association. The resignations of Messrs H. C. Bertelsen and W. Hawke'were accepted.
