W.F.C.A. v. UNITED (WELLINGTON).

I A match was played at Lansdowne, I yesterday afternoon, between teams ! representing the United Club (Wellington) and W.F.C.A. There was a good attendance of the public. The teams were as follow:—United Goal-keeper, Clementson; full-backs, Ashbolt; halves, Exley, King and Hollis; forwards, Millis, Organ, Birkett, Elliott and Hollis. W.F.C.A.—GoaI-keeper, Hall; fullbacks, Smith and Scrimgeour; halves, Russell, Fairbrother and Richards; forwards, Whitt, Petersen, Minett, Ralph," La Roche. The first spell was very evenly contested, the W.F.C.A. holding their own against the visitors. Towards the end of the spell the United set up a vigorous attack, but were unable to alter the scores, which were one goal each at the end of the spell. In the second half of the game t.ne visitors were continually attacking. They hit better and showed more combination than the W.F.C.A. The Uniteds scored three goals during this spell, while the home team were unable to improve their score. The W.F.C.A. backi played very well, and prevented goals being scored on several occasions. At the conclusion of the game the scores were: —United, 4 goals; W.F.C.A., 1 goal. Mr S. A. Noble-Campbell was referee.

HUIA v. WELLINGTON LADIES. A team from the Huias (Masterton) played a match against the Wellington Ladies'JClub, at Miramar, yesterday afternoon, the game resulting in a win for the latter team by one goal to nil. The game was very even right through, the winning goal being scored shortly before the call of time. A match was played at Day's Bay, yesterday, between a team from the United Club.and Kia Kaha (Masterton). The Masterton team won after a very fast game by four goals to one. They proved superior to United in every department of the game, the forwards, of whom A. Williams was best, being especially good. D'Arcy scored for United, and Williams (2) and Rue/(2) for the visitors.
