KELLY GANG PICTURES.
The Sydney Morning Herald says of the opening performance of the story of the Kelly Gang:—"Messrs J. and N. Tait scored a great success on Saturday night with their biograph representation of the history of the Kelly Gang. Extraordinary care and great expense has been undertaken in order to get the characters and surroundings true to life. Special trains had to be chartered and taken miles into the country to show the pulling up of the railway line and the incidents in connection with the attempted wrecking of the train, which was frustrated by the action of Schoolmaster Curnow, with his red scarf. Extraordinary success has been attained in- the making up of the various characters. The wellknown features of Kate, Ned, and Dan Kelly, with Steve Hart and Joe Byrne, are all reproduced in such a remarkable manner that the onlooker could easily imagine the pictures had been photographed on the spot where and when the stirring events took place." This entertainment will be shown at the Masterton Town Hall on Monday evening next. The box plan is now open at Miss Rive's.
