ALLEGED ASSAULT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 31. At the Police Court, to-day, Charles Dunn and Frank Morrah, alias James Morrah, were charged with having assaulted and wounded Gustav Grenberg. The evidence of Grenberg was that on the night of May 4th he went to Dunn's place, in Ellis Avenue, where the two accused and fourteen others were playing "two-up." Witness .won £8 or £9 and then 1 ' stopped playing. After a time witness went into another room to give Morrah change for £5. They had a dispute, and Morrah struck witness three times over the head with a bottle. Dunn attacked him with a chair, remarking, "That's how we knock 'em out in Sydney 'two-up' schools." Witness was afterwards in bed for five days, and was attended by a doctor. The case was adjourned.
