AN ANGLO-NEW ZEALAND WEDDING.

LONDON, April 12.

The new West End Synagogue, in St. Petersburg Place, Bayswater, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday of last week, when Miss Ruby Davis, daughter of Mr and Mrs Moss" Davif, of Auckland, was married to Mr Edward R. Harris, of 5 Chester Place, Hyde Park Square, a member of the London Stock Exchange. The service which was fully choral, was conducted by the Chief Rabbi, Dr, Adler, assisted by ; the Rev. Mr Geffin. Sir Joseph Ward was present "&t the ceremony. The bride wore a Duchess satin dress, with hand-worked filet lace, the yoke and sleeves being [of real ! Brussels lace, and the Court train of white satin, lined with silver gauze. She carried a shower bouquet of lilac and white heather, looped up with streamers of white tulle. The five bridesmaids wore white marquisette dresses in Empire style, with yolk and sleeves of white fillet lace, and long white sashes; their hats were of white lace, trimmed with natie blue ribbon and wreaths of pink roses. Mrs Moss Davis, the bride's mother, wore a grey striped chiffon with natie blue tulle toque, and carried a bouquet of roses, while Mrs Harris, mother of the bridegroom, wore black and white striped chiffon over pale mauve, with black toque and a bouquet of orchids. The bridesmaids .were Miss Muriel Davis, Miss Julia Harris, Miss Winniej Davis, Miss Rita Jacobs, and Miss Madge Golding, and Mr Victor Kulb was best man. After the wedding a reception was held at the Empress Rooms, Kensington, at which nearly 350 guests were present. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, and Miss Eileen Ward, Mr and Mrs Reeves, the New Zealand SolicitorGeneral and Mrs Fitchett, were among the guests, and in the course of a short speech Sir Joseph Ward expressed his pleasure at being present, and offered his congratulations to the newly-married couple. Mr and Mrs Edward Harris left later in the afternoon for Italy, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's going away dress was .of natie blue tussore silk, with yoke and sleeves of real lace, and cream straw hat with shaded blue features to match. Amongst the New Zealanders present at the reception were:—Dr. and Mrs Haines, Mr F. E. N. Crombie, Mr and Mrs William Dymock, Mr and Mrs Stewart Dawson, Mr and Mrs Robert Logan, Mr and Mrs Freshwater, Mr W. T. Holmes, Mr and Mrs Matthew Heeles, Mr and Mrs Hayman, Mr and Mrs Wolff Harris, Mr" R. Horton, Mr and Mrs R. Maxwell, Mr J. E. Nathan, and the Misses Nathan and Mr C.H. Reynolds. There was a brilliant display of wedding gifts. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a silverfitted dressing bag, and a diamond* and ruby pendant, while the bride gave the bridegroom a gold cigarette case. The bride's mother gave her a sapphire and diamond ring, and her father a cheque. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward's present was a finelyworked silver jewel casket. The staff ®f Messrs Hancock and Co., of Auckland cabled their congratulations, and sent a cheque as a wedding gilt. In all there were about 270 presents. On their return from the Continent, Mr and Mrs Harris will lake up their residence in London.
