Ladies and gentlemen,- At the request of a larga number of electors, I have decided to be nominated lor a seat on the 'J rust. lam well known, and have a considerable stake in the place. I fully realise the importance of thu Trus.t and its vast luture value to the Masterton District. If I have the honour to be elected, I will give my best efforts toconterve the interests and funds of the Trust, so tbat thu intentions of the original founders tiaay bo carried out. namely:—To expend the income for the promotion of higher education, and of otuer objects of utility to the town. If the resources of the Trust are carefully fostered and its affairs conducted on bubiness-llke linet, Maaterton should become the centre for higher education, and be a residential town for country settlers who wish to give their children the advantages of a college and technical education. I will also carefully consider the question |of exchanging sites for the Courthouse. lam in favour of a fair exchange to be decided by arbitration as to. their relative values.
