THE PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM.
(From Our London Correspondent.)
LONDON, April 11
With reference to the statements of a projected tour of New Zealand footballers in the North of England, under the auspices of the Northern Union, next season, Mr C. Wray Palliser, the representative of the New Zealand Rugby Union in this country, stated yesterday that he was awaiting information from the colony. He could say for certain, however, that any players taking part in the Northern Union tour would be banned by the colonial authorities, who were determined to uphold the amateur principles laid down by the Kubgy Union. Mr Pal 7 User added that he did not think any of the New Zealand team of (1905 would engage in such a trip, which, so far as he could ascertain, seemed to be one of private enterprise only.
