THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY.

By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 24. At a meeting of representatives of dairy companies, to-hight, under the auspices of the National Dairy Asso:iation, a resolution? was passed affirming the desirableness of all the Auckland companies joining that Association. A discussion took place regarding the conditions of awarding the championship prize and gold medal at the Winter Show. It was pointed out by Mr HilL that under the present rules the championship had been awarded to a factory whose average grade for the season was just over the minimum number of points for the first grade. At the same time, nobody disputed the quality of the box of butter sent in. A resolution was carried "that the championship for butter or cheese should be decided by the aggregate." A suggestion was also madej for conducting the export butter competition on different lines. Various lectures w6re given at the Agricultural Conference to-day. One of the Government officers advocated starting a Government canning establishment in this district.
