THE PLUNKET SHIELD.
AWARDED TO, CANTERBURY.' By Telegraph—Press Association.. May 15. At the. meeting of the New, Zealand 1 Cricket Council, to-night, a motion to award the Plunket Shield, for thebest record of the season among provincial associations, to Auckland, was lost by ten votes to six, and a motion that Canterbury' should receive the Shield was carried by eleven votes to six.
