MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Trustees of the Masterton Hospital was held yesterday morning. There were present:—Messrs A. W. Hogg (chairman), W. Harris, J. B. Keith, W. Fisher and F. W. H.Kummer. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £lO3 16s Bd. ' The Matron's report stated that there were 11 ptftients in-the Hospital at last meeting, 15 had since been admitted, and 11 had been discharged, leaving 16 in the institution at present. A letter was received from Messrs Sharland and Co., Wellington, in connection with an operating table which had been purchased through 1 them, and which was reported to have arrived at the Hospital in a damaged They stated that they had not unpacked the table in question at Wellington, but had sent, it to Masterton direct. It was decided that Mr Hogg should interview Messrs Sharland Co. on the matter, the Trustees being agreed that the firm should either put the table in proper order or make some reduction in the price. It v was decided that accounts for payment of articles of this description should not be passed in future without a certificate from the doctors in charge of the Hospital/ Thte Chairman was authorised to i arrange with the Clerk of Works in 1 reference to furnishing the operating theatre at the new Hospital. | A deputation from the Ambulance Corps waited on the Trustees, and asked authority to purchase an ambulance waggon. Mr A. Donald, on behalf of the stated that sufficient funds were in hand for the purchase of an ambulance waggon, but nothing definite had been decided on. A committee consisting of Messrs Hogg and Keith and Dr. Hosking was appointed to act with the Ambulance Corps in thd mattsr. Account amounting to £lO lis 7d were passed for payment. _ Mr Hogg was appointed visiting member for the month.
