CONGO ATROCITIES.
Received May 13, 9.15 a.m. BRUSSELS, May 12,
M. Liebaert, Minister of Finance, in an extraordinary speech in the Belgian Senate, replying to the criticisms of the Liberals with regard to the Congo Free State, protested against attacks emanating from England^ He added: "We cannot tolerate this attitude of other countries. We are not the Transvaal." The Liberals maintained their criticisms, which were based on an overwhelming report by the Commission of Enquiry. A vote of confident in the Government was carried by 54 votes to 39.
