HURRICANE AT FOTUNA,

A severe hurricane was experienced on April 17th at Fotuna Island, one of the Horn Islands, north-east of Fiji. Residences, stone churches, and cocoanut crops were levelled. Food is scarce.

Eeceived May 8, 10.35 a.m. LONDON, May 7. Lieutenant Chamberlain has been granted a decree nisi. (It was cabled on April 12th that Engineer-Lieutenant E. W. Chamberlain had applied for a divorce on the ground of his wife's adultery with Sir Brodrick Hartwell, with whom she eloped to Australia.
