NEW ZEALAND CHESS ASSOCIATION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 6. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Chess Association was held to-night. A letter was received from the Hon. J. Rigg, Suggesting that for the future cash prizes should not be given at championship contests. No action was taken. Mr Justice Denniston was elected President, and Mr F. R. Sharp Secretary and Treasurer. It was decided that in future congresses should be held at Easter instead of Christmas, and that the next congress should be held in June. A resolution regarding the induction of the time limit was held over till the June meeting.
