The statement of Henry Fletcher, who has been adjudged a bankrupt, shows that the bankrupt's debts amount to £246 6s' 2d. Bankrupt has submitted a written statement to the D.0.A., in which he states that he, started horse-train-ing at Porirua in'l9Cl, and did fairly well for about two years. He trained for Mr Baldwin, and xvJvr. the latter went to England in 1003 bankrupt took over his horses and raced them on terms. This speculation turned out badly, and the' bankrupt went to Levin and commenced training there. Ho did not do well in that place, and after being there for about ten months he removed to Lower Hutt. At the latter place he was unsuccessful at his business, and he ■eventually moved to Olareville. He took upftraining at that place, but his progress was hampered for want of capital. In order to' work up a business he took horses and trained them at a lower rate than usual. That was at a time when horse feed was at a high rate. He had been gradually going back, and his creditors: have been pressing him. It was on account of the pressure of his fireditors that he filed.
