THE BUDGET. Received April 26, 8.35 a.m. LONDON, April 25. In the House of Commons the discussion on the Budget is proceeding. The Socialist members, led by Mr P. Snowden, Labour member for Blackburn, bitterly assailed the Government for doing so little for old-age pensions, and for remitting a portion of the income tax so as to benefit the middle classes. • Several of the Radicals and the Liberals resented the Socialist exaggerations.
