LONDON, April 19. Sir William Lyne, Commonwealth Minister for Trade and Customs, again raised the status of Colonial Ministers at the Imperial Conference, intimating that he was dissatisfied, and that unless he was conceded the right to freely intervene in the discussion, he would probably '.withdraw. Lord Elgin desired to adhere to the limitation recently .agreed on—ithat Ministers should have liberty to attend any meetings, but only to speak when the President or their own Premier desired, except when their own departments were concerned. Sir Wilfrid Laurie*, however, sup-' ported Sir William Lyne's position. Ultimately it was decided that one! Colonial Minister, besides the Pre-' mier, should be allowed the fullest rights in discussion. j Sir William Lyne thinks the | Colonial Office aims at belittling the conference.
