♦ Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding Friday's nale:— We offered 60 bales of wool, 3,000 skins', 380 hides, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool—-We quote: Halfbred IOJd to lid, coarse crossbred 9|d to 9|d, merino 9d to lOd, rough and inferior 8d to 9d, pieces and bellies 6d to 7fd, locks 3d to sd. Skins: Market was firm at current rates. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report as follows:—The attendance of buyers was larger than usual, and, although all were not operating, the competition was fairly animated. Our catalogue was a fully representative one in all classes, the wool offered being good, considering the time of the year. Prices all round •were much the same as those ruling at last sale, but skins may be quoted as having an upward tendency and hides at times were in favour of buyers We quote—Wool. —Super crossbred lid, medium 9Jd to i>sd, inferior, dingy and seedy BJd to 9d; aliped lambs, 10Jd; lambs, medium, 9d to 9|d; crutchings, 6d to 63d; washed pieces, 7Jd; pieces, s|d to 6Jd. Hides—Ox, 701bs and over, 6ld; 601b to 691b, 6Jd to 6|d; 451b to 591b, 6|d to 62d; 441b and under, sfd; cow,, 551b and ovei\ 6d to6;ld; under 551b, 6£d to 6Jd; calf, 5Jd to 6di Tallow—Casks, in shipping order, £26 per ton. Zealand Loa'n and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—Our fortnightly sale was held on Friday, when we offered a fairly large catalogue of wool, skins, hides and tallow. Prices were about equal to last sales, with the exception of hides, which receded about Jd to Jd in value in sympathy with lower prices ruling in Australia. Tallow u lower by Is 6d to 2s per cwt. We quote:—Wool Coarse crossbred stragglers B|dto 9Jd; lambs, crutchings, s|d to 6Jd; lambs, inferior and seedy, 6&d to 7^l; pieces, s£d to 6|d. Sheepskins—Crossbred pelts 7|d to 8f d, inferior and broken pelts 4£d to 7d;full-woolldd crossbred BAd to 9Jd, lambskins 9d to 9Jd, dead skins 7Jd to BJd per lb, green skins 4s 3d to 5s 3d each, lambskins 3s 9d to 4s 9d each. Hides—Ox. 6d to 6£d; cow, sld to (3d; slippy and cut, 4d to s|d; calf, sound, 6d to 6Jd; calf, cut and damaged, 2d to sd. Tallow—ln shipping condition, good mixed 25s to 265, medium 23s 6d to 24s 6d; in tins and boxes from 18s 6d to 21s 9d per cwt.
