Duncan and Luxford were the judges in Wellington, and they awarded the Trustees of the late D. McMaster first prize, Mr W. Mace second, and Messrs J. and H. r Holmes third. The judges' report on the condition of the dead exhibits is as follows : First bullock.'—Good length of sirloin and prime ribs full in lean of roasting parts and general, small Ibrisket not too fat, small neck ,and shins, not wasteful in kidney suet, altogether the best commercial, bullock for retail purposes. Second bullock—Good in.lengthof I. sirloin and rios, rather lighter in flesh than the first bullock, fairly small in neck and shins but too large in proportion to weight, and in consequence not so profitable an ox. Third bullock.—Rather a coarser ox, carrying a fair length of loin and ribs, fle.ih too light on brisket and flank, too deep and wasteful, much heavier in neck and shins than the other two beasts, and too much of fat in proportion to lean. Bad cutter although not too heavy. Although, concluded the judges, • the first prize was awarded to the lightest beast, it will be noticed that the decision was arrived at upon the igeneral usefulness of the animals for cutting purposes and not specially Upon weights as none of the >bul■Jocks were over .useful weights.
