RIFLE SHOOTING.
MAURICEVILLE v. FAIRVIEW. A team from the Mauriceville Rifle Club visited Fernridge, yesterday, and fired a match against the local club. The Weather was perfect for shooting. The conditions were ten shots each at the 200 yds and 500 yds ranges, and the visitors won on the aggregate by &52 points to 795. The Mauriceville Club were hospitably entertained at lunch and afternoon tea by the home team. At the conclusion of the day's shooting cheers were exchanged. The scores were as follow: —
A match was then fired between teams chosen by the captains of each club. Five shots each were fired at the 600 yds range, without sighters. The scores were as follow :-- Captain Wilton's Team.—A. Larsen 19, G. Ford 19, F. Kummer 18, F. Wilton 16, F. M. Ross 16, A. Dagg 16, W. Payne 12, H. Evans 12, H. Kummer 8, R. Graham 2. Total, 139.
Captain McGregor's Team.—F. Evans 17, R. Dagg 15, D. McGregor 14. R. McGregor 14, E. Dagg 12, A. Rose 10. E. Harford 9, J. Dagg 6, S. Evans 4, C. Brooks 2. Total, 103.
