.o ■ ■ AN OFFICIAL SUSPENDED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 10. In connection with the suspension of Mr D.;C. Mclntyre as superintendent of awards at the Exhibition, a printed list, entitled, "General Judging Regulations," has been discovered by the authorities, which contains some extraordinary (provisions. The general manager of the Exhibition, Mr G. S. Munro, states that till to-day he had no knowledge of the existence "of these printed regulations, and he was unable to say whether or not they had received Ministerial sanction. They bear only the printed signature "D. C. Mclntyre, Superintendent of Judges and Awards." Seventeen regulations are comprised in this document, of which the following are most remarkable, by virtue of the powers which they confer upon the superintendent of awards : No. 13.—An exhibitor may appeal against any by the judge in his class, such appeal tojjbe lodged with the superintendent of awards within twenty-four hours of publication of the judge's award, and to be accompanied by a sum of £2, which shall be returned if the appeal is successful. These payments will form a special fund for the remunerating of experts called in to give evidence to the superintendent of awards.
No. 14. —When an exhibitor has made out a prima facie case for the re-examination of his exhibits the superintendent of awards may order such examination to be made by an expert, and upon a report being received from such expert, the superintendent of awards may, if he sees fit, alter the award appealed against. The decision of the superintendent of awards on any question connected with the awards shall be final.
No. 16.—1f any question shall arise as to the interpretation of any of these regulations, the decision of such question shall rest solely with the superintendent of awards. No. 17—The superintendent of awards shall have power to amend or add to these regulations should necessity arise. CHRISTCHURCH, April 11. A telegram from Mr D. C. McIntyre, the auspended'superintendent of awards, was received from Wellington, to-day, at the Exhibition, stating, inter alia, that Mr Mclntyre will be in Christchurch to-morrow.
