STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Co, Ltd., held their sale at the Masterton yards, yesterday, when there w-ft's heavy entry of both sheep and cattle. The attendance of buyers was large, and a good enquiry was experienced throughout, most of the entries finding ready sale under the hammer. Cattle showed a decided improvement, and only one line of weaners was passed out unsold. Two-tooth to f.m. ewes reached 13s Bd, black face 2-tcoth ewes (good line) 15s sd, good crossbred 2-tooth ewes 15s lOd, shorn lambs 8s 7d to 10s 7d, medium woolly lambs 10s lOd, f.m. empty ewes 10s 5d to lis 6d, a.m. ewes in lamb 13s Bd,. good weaner calves 17s to 20s, small weaner calves 9s Gd to lis, forward 2J-year heifers 63s 6d to 735, fat and ■forward cows 77s to 80s, good springing cow 965, slip pigs 12s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale held yesterday as follows:--The yarding was a good representative one, and every pen was occupied, although we had to apologise for the non-arrival of several entries of wethers, ewes and lambs, win :h unfortunately did not come forward. For all good wethers, sound ewes, and strong lambs competition was very keen, the only class, to drag being aged and faulty ewes or weakly A lambs. However, with low reserves •on these sorts, we managed to quit the whole catalogue, the sale throughout having a thoroughly healthy tone. In cattle we yarded some forward bullocks and useful steers, both of these classes finding a ready market, as did strong, good-coloured weaners, but old cows and poor weaners were almost unsaleable. In wethers, good forward sorts ranged from 16s to 17k, good stores 15s to 15s 9d, small 14s. Fat wethers 16s Gd, fat ewes 14s 9d, small fats 14s, fat lambs 12s, forward ewes 13s 3d, best ewes in lamb 14s to 14s 4d, medium lis to 13s, •others 10s to lis Gd, culls 8s to 9s, best lambs 12s, others 10s 3d, 10s, 9s lOd, 9s 6d, 9s 4d, small 8s 3d, culls 4s to 5s 6d, best JRomney rams 3Jgns, others 2gns, aged lgn, boilers 7s 6d to 10s, forward steers £5 Bs, 3yr steers £3 to £4, beef heifers 60s to 80s, good weaners 22s 6d, ordinary -and small 10s to 12s.
