MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS

The monthly meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), D. McLachlan, J. Cress, A. J. Welch, A. Reside, D. CaselbergV C. H. Smith, W. Piatt, W. Cooper, R. Buick, and J. lorns. The Stewards decided to grant Mr J. H. Pollock, the club's handicapper, a bonus of £lO for his services during last season. Mr P. Kirkby wrote asking for a refund of the amount paid for the privilege of the horse paddock at the recent meeting. He stated that holders of complimentary tickets and others had used the members' horse paddock when they had no right to do so. The Secretary was instructed to collect a small amount due and pay Mr Kirkby. It was decided to have £5 totalisator tickets at the next meeting. It was resolved to recommend the incoming Stewards to increase the time between each race at the next meeting.
