A DISPUTED VALUATION.
By Telegraph —Press Association. NAPIER, April C. At the Assessment Court, to-day, the hearing of a case in which G. P. Donnelly, part-owner of the Waimararria, Waipuka, and Ohaihau Blocks, objects' A to the Government valuation as being too low, is being heard. A curious, if not unprecedented position, it appears, has arisen. Two valuations were made by Government officials, one averaging a little over J29 an acre and the other about £7. in view of tho fact that if the land is acquired .by the Government for settlement purposes, they would have to pay full Government value, the owners submit that the land should not be under-valued, and therefore seek to have the' higher valuation of £9 sustained.
